Edwin Carter was a miner-turned-taxidermist and environmental conservationist. He traveled West from New York to Breckenridge and was moderately successful at mining. His vocation changed as his witnessed the impact mining had on the environment. This original log cabin home contains lots of information about Carter and his environmental preservation efforts.
